NOTE: We have moved to a new location - Harraton Community Centre, in Bonemill Lane (at the juntion with Biddick Lane). We restart on Wednesday and Sunday nights from September 8th 2010 - see 'About The Club' page for details.
Washington Judo Club was formed in September 2002 by Sensei John Pickering and a group of local parents. We strongly believe that, by following the principles of judo, we have developed a club with a strong sense of community, where all are welcome. We actively encourage parents to be involved, to help create a family atmosphere. Everyone involved with the Club is a volunteer and all money collected is used for the benefit of members.
The Club is a member of the British Judo Council (No. 119)
The Club is also registered with and affiliated to the British Judo Association (No. 6046)
SENSEI JOHN PICKERING 2nd Dan (I'm the one with the beard at the bottom of the pile!). If you or your child are interested in taking up judo, either contact me by email at:washingtonjudo@hotmail.com or come along on a Club night - you are more than welcome to sit and watch.
VISITING SENSEIS / DAN GRADES The following Senseis / Dan Grades have visited our club and we have been really grateful for their time and support. Anyone wishing to join us on the mat will always be warmly welcomed.
